News coverage from KNOM in Nome talks about the paradigm shift in the PC CARES from a one-on-one counseling, healthcare-based solution, to a community-based model where friends, parents, grandparents, school staff, etc. can all do their small part to keep youth safe, healthy and connected. One of the guiding principles of this model is that communities are best equipped to self-determine how to address suicide, which is why we rely on local coordinators to facilitate Learning Circles.
